Over all media is everywhere; wether we like it or not. Each and everyday we are surrounded by thousands of ads which has an impact on our lives. Some might sill be in disbelief and will not admit the fact that media has an impact on them. It doesn't even have to be a big impact; it could be as little as wanting McDonalds after seeing the McDonalds bag sitting in the blue Dodge passenger seat next to you at Super America.
We ca not get rid of media because it is part of America. Yes, we could stablish some regulations, but will it help? Media ia said to be invasive, intruding, a slam in the face, annoying, and all of the above. But it is their job to be intrusive, because if they don't announce their product in such a way, how would America know about the product or to buy it? Hundreds of years ago, it was the word of mouth, but in today's terms, it isn't that simple or realistic as it would be many many years ago.
As much as we hate it, it's only up to us to get rid of it ourselves. If we don't like the media, we tune it out. If it's bad and not appropiate then it's up to you or the parents to make sure it won't be seen or won't be an impact. We just have to be informed consumers. Make sure the product is realiable, realistic, and working. It is like getting mad at the advertisement calls people get. I bet the people working don't like being disrepected all the time by us because you know we'll yell and tell them not to call back, or swear at them, or jut hang up on them when they are just doing their job.
Media is here, it's been here, and it's here to stay. We just have to be imformed consumers. Life is full of choices and we have choices when it comes to media. Think of it as entertainment in our lives. (:
