T.V is forever changing. It used to be black and white, and now its colors; it used to be on when the broadcast is aired and it turned off when nothing is aired and now there's access to shows 24/7. Even the content of T.V is different than before. The reality shows, the censors, the ridiculous jokes and comments, the sexuality, the obscenity, the type of acting would of never been on T.V when it first came popular. There had been drastic changes with television.
I believe the drastic change is mostly due to the change in audience behaviors. There probably are many other factors that come in play, but the most influential factor is its core audience. People are always changing and adapting to the new technology, new styles, new behaviors, and television follows.
We had to a read a chapter about Television in the book; they talked about the T.V on the computer or the web on the T.V. Who would of ever thought there could be internet on T.Vs. With technology today, there are cords where you can plug it from the computer to the t.v where the t.v is your computer screen. And then there is t.v on the computer. Websites like Youtube is similar to that. It doesn't have full movie lengths, but there are clips or snippets. I was on there the other day and I guess Youtube now has High Digital or HD videos; really awesome quality. Mabybe soon, there will be T.V's with connected webcams like come computer monitors have. Crazy isn't it?
The T.V and it's contents are fascinating, but there is also the other things that comes with a T.V.: the remote, the DVD or DVR, Discs and now Blue Ray Discs.
It is like the world is competing against itself to to see who has the better and bigger stuff. Who will attract more costumers who will have the newest and latest technology. I blame this on the people, also. People are materialistic and wanting the much better things and that's what the industry is trying to work by. It's like a spiral that's spiraling out bigger and bigger. We started off small with box called T.V and some broadcasters, but to further satisfy and make more money the invention of color, more shows, and etc. But the box was too ugly, so they made it look better; different brands compete against each other to get audiences and the cycle continues.
Who knows, maybe in the future, you will snap your fingers and there is the robotic flying t.v ready to follow your orders.
